Parkes Christian School student Marnie Noakes making a furry friend in Germany whilst on a student exchange program.
Hey everyone it’s Marnie, with another update all the way from Germany.
All I can say is wow! Time is going incredibly quickly. I guess it’s because I am enjoying my exchange so much that I lose track of the days, which before I know it have rolled into weeks. It is like a fantasy, to think I’m here living in Germany, I feel so lucky to have this experience.
During May and June I met up with multiple friends. On one of these occasions I met up with my friends and we went to what is called the city beach. It is an area beside the lake that has been filled with sand and deck chairs to give it a ‘beachy’ feel. It was very cool I haven’t seen anything like this in Australia.
I went to Forchheim, Germany for a weeklong Rotary camp with other exchange students. We did many things during the weekincluding a tour around Bamberg, Germany as well as visiting the rose garden. During the week we also went kayaking in Franconian, Switzerland. It is an area in Bavaria Germany that is a very famous tourist spot. Wow, what a great time we had!
The town I live in held its yearly Africa festival. At the festival I got my hair braided, and a special drawing on my hand, it was super cool experience.
I did so many things but that’s just a short summary for the month.
Bye for now Parkes,
Marnie Noakes
