Changed Traffic Conditions For Road Resurfacing Work On The Parkes Bypass

October 8, 2026 By Roxane Manley

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions for road resurfacing work on the Parkes Bypass. Transport for NSW is laying the final road surface and reinstating line marking on sections of the bypass near Mitchell Street, Victoria Street and Hartigan Avenue, as well as some nearby local roads.

The work will be carried out from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and is expected to take up to three weeks to complete, weather permitting. No work will take place on Sundays or public holidays.

For the safety of workers and motorists, changed traffic conditions will be in place during work hours, including a single lane closure and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h. Motorists should allow up to 10 minutes of extra travel time during the work.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the direction of signs and traffic control. Parking restrictions will be in place between 7am and 5pm during shifts in each work area. Restricted parking areas will be marked 12 hours before work begins.

For the latest traffic updates, download the Live Traffic NSW App, visit livetraffic.com or call 132 701.
