Grant Funding Opportunity For Local Events As Council Offers Free Grants Workshop

October 22, 2026 By Roxane Manley

Parkes Shire Council is encouraging local community groups and event organisers to apply for funding through Round 2 of its Events Financial Assistance Program (EFAP), with applications open from 19 October to 19 November 2026 for events taking place between January and July 2027.

To help applicants get started, Council’s Grants Team will host a free Grants Workshop on Wednesday, 28 October, providing practical guidance on preparing grant applications and making the most of available funding opportunities.

Community groups, not-for-profit organisations and anyone interested in learning more about grant applications are invited to attend Council’s free workshop on Wednesday, 28 October from 6pm–8pm at the Parkes Shire Library.

Whether you are preparing an application for the current Events Financial Assistance Program round, seeking funding for another community initiative or simply wanting to learn more about the grants process, the session is open to everyone.

RSVP by 22 October to grants@parkes.nsw.gov.aus to secure your spot! Groups unable to attend the workshop who need assistance with an application are encouraged to contact Council’s Grants Team at least two weeks before the application deadline via grants@parkes.nsw.gov.au.
