The 25th Local Government Touch Football Carnival kicks off at 9am at Cheney Park tomorrow.
The annual event, hosted by Parkes Shire Council in conjunction with Parkes Sports Council, has become a staple event on the Local Government social calendar.
The Carnival attracts teams from interstate, comprising of Australian and Local Government employees, allied organisations and their families.
Parkes Shire Council’s General Manager, Kent Boyd said: “Our local teams are excited to battle it out with our Council counterparts.
“This year we have teams travelling from Brisbane, Bankstown, Lake Macquarie, Camden, Canada Bay, Willoughby, Port Stephens and Dubbo.”
Kent said some new teams would be participating, as well as loyal entrants, like Wagga Wagga City Council. They have been attending the Carnival since its incep- tion in 1992.
Teams will play a round-robin style tournament with two grades in both the men’s division and mixed divisions.
Set to be a great family-friendly day out, residents and visitors are encouraged to cheer on the teams.
