Meals from the Cooke Parke Café have been very popular during the COVID-19 restrictions. Support from the community has kept the staff on their toes. They are (L- R) Reneya Blackie, Samone Owens, Leanne Stevenson and Tammy Alexander.

 

Meals on Wheels in Parkes received a visit from local member for Orange Phil Donato this week to congratulate them on keeping their service going during the pandemic. They are (L-R) Deborah Wren, Gill Kinsela and Jenny Field.

The Claire family of Jessica, Brad, Parker and baby Mackenzie enjoyed family time in a park last weekend after the lifting of some restrictions.

 

It’s Bin Fun! Have you bin dressing up to take out your garbage bins during isolation? The world-wide trend has come to Parkes too with a whole spectrum of characters bin spotted around town on bin day. Do you recognise this dude? (Clue: You might call him the ‘King’ of dress ups…)

Layla Varcoe, Parkes Christian School student, did not miss the opportunity on Monday to dress up for ‘May the 4th be with you’! Students kept the school tradition alive dressing up at home this week for May the 4th.

 

Big Bake Off: Farmer Ana is still at it and has made over 3,000 slices so far. Last week she distributed trays to Corona frontline workers and for Mother’s Day. The hospitals received a second round, as well as the paramedics, bushfire volunteers, ambos and firemen. Donations of baking materials were given by Coles, Jill Coles, Friends of the Hospital and Ana’s friends. Donations are still welcome, contact Ana on 0423 150 949.

We not only need to clean our hands regularly, but these students also cleaned the creek in PAC Park last Friday picking up several bags of rubbish. They are Ella and Curdie Butler and Adam Barnard.

Bingo is on at the Parkes Services Club every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am. On Tuesday Christine Miller, Tracy Parrington and Kathy Van Riin were happy to join in.

 

Rachel Kelly was also at Bingo on Tuesday.

 

Margaret Cherry has been playing Bingo for many years and was there again on Tuesday.

 

Gwen Salt, Kerry Stevenson, Joan Thornton and Patricia Davis were ready for some Bingo on Tuesday.
