Eugowra Rifle Club

April 21, 2016 By Maggi Barnard

Last weekend saw a recent record number of 14 shooters attend the normal Saturday afternoon championship round from 500 yards. A combination of perfect weather and shooting conditions, together with the additional influx of ex Orange Rifle Club members resulted in the large attendance.

The two new electronic targets were very beneficial in assuring an early finish to shooting. Even with 14 shooters they were able to complete shooting by around 4pm. Many shooters posted some excellent scores in the favourable conditions. Newcomer, Tony Leonard and the experienced Peter Harris, each scored 115 out of a possible 120 in F Class. Tony took the honours with a superior super centre count. David Jolly and Ian Ward both recorded perfect
100’s in Full-Bore with David just pipping Ian, who has not shot for several months, by just one central bull.

Scores were as follows:
Full-Bore (possible 100)
David Jolly 50.4, 50.5 – 100.9
Ian Ward 50.4, 50.4 – 100.8
Margot Jolly 48.4, 47.3 – 95.7
Jan Bray 47.2, 47.3 – 94.5
Steve Mitchell 45.2, 46.4 – 91.6
John Bray 46.1, 44.2 – 90.3

F Class (possible 120)
Tony Leonard 56.4, 59.5 – 115.9
Peter Harris 57.4, 58.2 – 115.6
Barry Plowman 54.6, 59.4 – 113.10
Alistair Kable 56.2, 57.6 – 113.8
Jim Maloy 56.2, 56.4 – 112.6
Garry Livingston 57.3, 55.3 – 112.6
Alan Noble 51.0 one stage only

Optical (possible 100)
Alan Buckley 45.3, 49.4 – 94.7

This Saturday a round from 600 yards will follow the club’s AGM. Shooting is to commence from 1.30pm with all visitors most welcome. Please contact David Jolly on 6863 5575 for additional information.
