Spring has finally sprung across the Parkes Shire region and the Colour Parkes Campaign will be moving interstate for the second phase of implementation. Parkes Shire Council Brand and Marketing Manager Katrina Dwyer said the campaign had resounding success so far locally. Being within a four hour driving radius, Canberra has been targeted as an emerging visitor market.
“The campaign will capitilise on Canberra’s Floriade Festival during the spring season by promoting the colourful events, attractions and experiences within the Parkes Shire.” The promotion will be supported by a tactical marketing program incorporating a television campaign on Prime 7, print and digital media, billboard signage, shopping centre advertising placement and attendance at major consumer trade shows in Canberra.
The campaign has had a fantastic reach on social media, with many taking up the opportunity to download their Colour Pass from www.visitparkes.com.au to access the special deals. “By simply presenting their Colour Pass at any of the 16 participating local outlets, locals and visitors can redeem the amazing offers which are valid until 30th November,” Katrina said. Customers are reminded to get social during the Colour Parkes campaign for a chance to win a return visit to Parkes for an exclusive tour inside The Dish.
“Share your favourite images of the Parkes Shire with us via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Use the hashtag #ColourParkes and tag @ParkesTourism to be in with a chance to win the prize package, which includes one night’s accommodation and meals for up to four people,” said Katrina. The winner will be chosen and notified on 1st December.
