SPACECATS FACE ROUND SIX
What was set to be a very interesting game took place at Caltex Park in Dubbo over the weekend against first place Parkes Spacecats and second place CYMS. As both teams were currently unbeaten, nerves were high about who would end up on top. Running out for the Spacecats were; 1. Claire Barber 2. Brittney Ryan 3. Sarah McAneney 4. Hannah Kelly 5. Shannealle Wyrzynski 6. Ella-J Harris 8. Demi-Joyce Winter 9. Katie Caldwell 10. Sami Afele
11. Emma Bayley 12. Nat Gardiner 13. Codie Wakefield 14. Louise McAneney 15. Samantha Cox 16. Emeline Lavaka 17. Shaya Male 18. Nicole Mapperson 20. Brittany Dumesny.
After a CYMS start both sides were feeling the pressure and greasy ball mistakes were made in what was shaping up to be a fast paced game. First points went to CYMS with the score at half time Parkes 0- CYMS 10. The Spacecat ladies started the second half knowing they had to work hard to put points on the board and shut down the CYMS attack. Captain Hannah Kelly scored Parkes’ first try with under seven minutes remaining and Claire Barber kicked a successful goal. However it wasn’t enough on the day and the final score stood at CYMS 20- Parkes 6.
The team are now waiting for round 13 where they will face the CYMS ladies at home and hopefully come away with a win. The Parkes Spacemen executive along with the league tag team would like to thank their major Guernsey sponsor Parkes Services Club and Sleeve sponsors 1. Simply Bellissima by Kim, 2.
