Parkes Sharks swimmers have been training extremely hard since the start of the season in October for the annual carnival this weekend (1st and 2nd December). Swimmers from around the district will be taking part, which creates some stiff competition. Long distance events will be held on Saturday afternoon, which includes the 1500, 800 and 200 metre events.
The carnival is a qualifying meet for state and country times, which our swimmers are working hard to achieve. Over the last couple of months Parkes summers have attended swim meets in Canberra, Cowra and Forbes. All swimmers have achieved wonderful results and broke personal best times, which demonstrates their hard work and dedication to the sport.
The Parkes carnival is also a great opportunity for the up and coming swimmers to gain experience at a great venue in good company.
We wish all swimmers attending the carnival the best of luck and hoping that they achieve their personal best. A barbecue will be available on Sunday.
