Member for Orange, Phil Donato was in Parkes on Monday to announce funding to three community groups under the Local Sport Grant Program.
The Parkes Pony Club received $1,800. The club will be hosting a two-day riding clinic with a guest instructor. The clinic will be open to members, as well as other clubs across zone 11.
The cheque for the Parkes Railway Bowling Club amounted to $4,442 that will be used to install new lights for the greens. The club currently has 329 members.
The Parkes Australian Football Club, better known as the Panthers, received $5,450 for a pair of new goal posts. The club will be hosting the PSSA primary state AFL championships from 23rd to 25th May. This will be a first for the club with 250 kids and their families converging onto Parkes from all over NSW.
