Stoney Creek A Success

May 18, 2017 By Maggi Barnard

Organisers of Saturday’s inaugural Stoney Creek Medley 3-ball stableford were delighted with the success of the day.

Members enjoyed the event that was played to conditions that proved easy to apply but hard to succeed at.

This meant any combination of players could succeed, but applying the playing conditions was vital as all players had to use the group’s low, middle and highest handi-capped player on six occasions.

In a brilliant display the team of Luke Clarke, Todd Jayet and Todd Barrow com- bined solidly to record 96 points. They will move on to the regional final.

The Handiskins, described as the ultimate game of skins for club golfers, commences tomorrow with the first qualifying round.

The Handiskins is played under stableford conditions over five rounds with players paying a one-off entry fee of $39 from which $4 is donated to the “Leuk the Duck” charity raising funds for kids with cancer.

The competition runs over five rounds, and the leading four players with the highest combined three rounds of stableford scores will contest a skins final and the chance to win a share of the $1,200 in club and/or Pro Shop vouchers.
