Ladies, have you ever wanted to play a bit of golf, but don’t feel like joining a ‘serious’ club, or taking part in competitions? Why don’t you try the Parkes Ladies Social Golfers? The Parkes Ladies Social Golfers meet every Tuesday and Friday morning for a round of 9 holes before heading for a coffee, often at Cedar’s Café in the Greenparkes Garden Centre.
“Everyone is welcome, just come along and have a hit,” said Lois Godden. “Bring a friend, have a cuppa afterwards, we’re a friendly and fun-loving group of ladies.” Originally there were two separate groups, the Cygnets, who met on Tuesdays, and the Pitch and Putters who met on Fridays.
Several years ago, they combined into one group. There are currently 22 members, with anywhere between 3 and 15 turning up on any given day. “It’s not expected that you come every time, its very casual,” said Dawn Wakefield. “Our tee-off time varies according to daylight saving.”
If you’re interested in joining, tee-off starts at 8am next week. For any enquires please contact Helen Westcott on 0412 444 452.
