Three childcare centres in Parkes were part of a total of 19 centres in the Central West to receive New Holland model tractors donated by the Agricultural Equipment Holdings group. Branch Manager of the McPhersons Parts and Service dealership in Parkes, Nathan Jennings handed over the tractors to Nurture One, Community Kids and Parkes Early Childhood Centre. Here he is with Nat Watt of Nurture One and Macey, Caleb and Amber who were keen to try out the new toy tractors.

 

Kobe Moffitt (2) enjoyed the sunshine on Tuesday and feeding the ducks at Busman’s Dam.

The descendants of Wes Cheney attended the opening of the refurbished Cheney Park amenities block on Wednesday. They are in front (L-R) his daughters Vivienne Cunningham and Loris White, granddaughter Helen Kenyon and great granddaughter Donna Swetland (standing).

 

Colin Radley was very happy with his catch, a Murray Cod measuring 75cm, at Lake Endeavour last weekend.

 

Exploring the run off at the lake last weekend were (L-R) Poppy Rodgers, Juno Dobson, Elkie Rodgers and Raff Dobson.

 

The announcement of $185 million for the Parkes Special Activation Precinct on Wednesday attracted a large media contingent.

 

Lilly and Scarlett Gosper-Chambers had a look at Lake Endeavour last weekend to see water flowing over the spillway for the first time in four years.

The Parkes Visitor Information Centre reopened last week. Here is Tourism Officer Cherie Simpson at the display of local produce available for purchase at the centre.

Layla Varcoe, Parkes Christian School student, did not miss the opportunity on Monday to dress up for ‘May the 4th be with you’! Students kept the school tradition alive dressing up at home this week for May the 4th.

 

Big Bake Off: Farmer Ana is still at it and has made over 3,000 slices so far. Last week she distributed trays to Corona frontline workers and for Mother’s Day. The hospitals received a second round, as well as the paramedics, bushfire volunteers, ambos and firemen. Donations of baking materials were given by Coles, Jill Coles, Friends of the Hospital and Ana’s friends. Donations are still welcome, contact Ana on 0423 150 949.
