The Henry Parkes Museum also pinked up for the McGrath Foundation last month with a display of pink la- dies underwear, and volunteers wearing pink all through October. At the Historical Society’s annual church service a total of $136.90 was raised. President Bruce Hall handed the donation to Marg Applebee of the Pink Up Parkes Committee.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack with the Parkes Public School Choir who performed at the Remembrance Day commemoration on Monday.

 

The Parkes Sharks Swimming Club had a busy month. The points winners for the month of October were Phoebe Forbes and Meg Skinner (joint 3rd), Joan Carolan (2nd) and Nicole Ellis (1st).

 

The Parkes Sharks boys point winners for October were Khan Jackson (1st), Matty Price (3rd with Charlie Mahon (absent), and William Ellis (2nd).

The MLAHMC (Aboriginal housing management organisation) office in Parkes has turned pink too for Pink Up Parkes. Office staff at the display are Seth Toomey, Rachel Hoy and Sue McGrath.

 

Pink angels Jenine Sloane and Anita Beddowes took part in the Pink Up Parkes Landcare Motley Crew Walk and Wellness morning on Saturday morning.

 

Beth and Bill Thomas not only took part in the annual open garden event last Sunday, but turned their garden ‘pink’ to help raise funds for the McGrath Foundation.

Sergeant Wayne Sargent and Corporal Adam James served together in Afghanastan and Banda Aceh. Wayne was an engineer, and Adam was a medic. They are now Army-retired.


Marlene Symonds, Jo Laurie and Ella Jablonskis were marching for Jack Harper and Jim Harper of the 3rd Bat- talion, Royal Australian Regiment.

Graham Cooke, Paul Thomas and Captain Anthony Klen- this, RAN joined other marchers at the Parkes Services Club after the Commemoration Service.

Dozens of Freemasons and guests paid tribute to our fallen during the combined Parkes-Forbes Freemason Commemoration Service at the Parkes Lodge last week.



Heritage home owner Mark Olson joined Councillor Alan Ward and Kate Ward at Hart Bar for the launch of the Sunrise to Sunset – Parkes Heritage Houses Open Day.

Rose Jones and Gail Hall looked after all the hungry tummies at the recent Smoke, Rust and Noise Day at the Henry Parkes Museum.

 

Maddison McCormick, Caleb Wirth and Stephanie Milling learned first-hand the art of using props, sound effects and physical comedy at the Andy Jones Show.

The audience were delighted to find they were part of the Andy Jones Show.

Life guards Jarrad Duffy and Alex Macaulay kept the fun going at the Council’s Youth Week pool party last Sunday.

Parkes Public School held an Easter Fete last Friday. Ella, Ava and Logan Hamood enjoyed all the fun on offer.
