Eileen Newport: I’ve had my first one and had no side effects. The next one is due on the 19th of October. I thought about it for a long time before I went for the first jab. I decided it was the right thing to do for everyone’s sake.

Rosemary Prior: I’ve had my first shot and only had a sore arm. The second one is due at the end of the month. As we enjoy travelling in our caravan, my husband and I both decided it was the right thing to do for safety’s sake. I’m encouraging all my family to do the same thing as this virus is not going to go away any time soon. It is very important to get the vaccine.

Nicholas Glasson (16): It was great! The information was very good and will impact how I think in future. I am sure to buy more second-hand clothing from now on.
Deb Jones: It was a great event and I have decided to commit again to Plastic Free July, eating less red meat and more plant-based food. It also got me thinking about the next level up from recycling, which is refusing to buy new items.
Marg Jones, Bill Jayet and Sharon Fhipps:
Kelsey (9) and Alana (12) Finnegan:
Amarni Reidy (9): I wanted to do it to see what it’s like as I enjoy making art. I was inspired by a book I read about rainbows, water and nature. I saw a rainbow on the front cover and started making one, and then continued making other things found in nature and the garden.
Alexander Priest: Oscar Hendry is my best friend and I want to help him to save the world’s future.
Clayton Wing Yip, Elizabeth Drewes, Vienna Farrell, Marty Davis and Arial Johnson: We are concerned about climate change, and it is great to have this event in Parkes. We wanted to participate to help raise awareness. It was empowering to be here today as we now know how we can get involved and help. It also created a better sense of community and it was great to see the Mayor and some Councillors also care about the environment.
Jeanette Lane and Julie Layton: Julie: I absolutely believe we have to do something. It is important to invest in our collective voice for change. Jeanette: We need to stop the investments in gas fired plants. It was also great for kids to see other kids take action.
